  • Assuming that you can use sea-water, then will pumping of that water to an algae farm consume a large amount of energy? Also, assuming that youbuild the algae-farm near the sea (to avoid long-distance water pumping), then will you have to build CO2 pipelines from large, distantsources (such as Sasol-Secunda, or an Eskom coal-fired power plant), also at an energy penalty to the project?

    As indicated above, we can also use underground salt water which is mostly located inland, hence the source is actually much closer.
